The Legacy Project

Wouldn’t it be great if every human being on the face of this earth had only one desire? Which was to leave the world in a better place for the next person than when they first arrived.

How great would it be? To see that everyone was concerned about climate change, education for all, and absolutely no war or nuclear weaponry. At least mother nature would feel cared for and I’m certain we’d all live happier and healthier lives.

But, alas….this scenario is not quite reality. For most of us, we have our own struggles on a micro-level that keep us focused and frazzled.

The goal of this post is to share with you tips to “evening out” your own playing field. Here I provide a few tips to “breathing easier” by making the steps to live your life with love, care, compassion and thoughtfulness.  By all means, I am not an expert. I get it wrong at times – but I am thankful for another day to try again.

The Gift of Time

as we become parents we learn the true value of time – which is that it means so much more than a paycheck.

Time we cannot get back:

  1. Our child’s first steps
  2. Our child’s first words
  3. Welcoming our children into the world!

As Rick Warren, the Author of A Purpose Driven Life says about relationships and time….

“It is not enough to just say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them. Words alone are worthless. “My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.” Relationships take time and effort, and the best way to spell love is “T-I-M-E.””

So I ask you today, if your actions could speak, what would they say to your family about what is most important to you?

Here are some questions to think about….

  1. Would your arms have said “I love you” with a big bear hug?
  2. Would your mouth have said “Your special to Me?” with tender kisses?
  3. Would your laughter have filled the room – just because you enjoy spending time with the ones you love most?

Consider these questions and more this family day as you spend time with the ones you love!

Happy Family Day Canada!
